They tend toward the mainstream, but occasionally will venure out to avant garde artists like Andrew Hill, or ethnic-influenced groups like Oregon. Big names will often be booked for a week (Tuesday or Wednesday through Saturday or Sunday), others may be booked one day at a time. There are also occasional Sunday matinees and Monday night showcases for local/breaking acts. The performance space is a theater setup with raised stage, lights, sound reinforcement, which seats 230 people in rows of numbered chairs. Ticket prices are typically in the $20 range but vary with different performers. Two sets are typically listed at 8:00 and 9:30 pm, and a ticket gets you into one set. However, attendees of the first set may sometimes stay for the second set if there is unsold seating room still remaining. There is food available from a small deli/bar in the lobby, and a few tables and chairs, but food is not allowed in the performance space. From the 10 Freeway west, exit at La Cienega Bl./Venice Bl. Turn left (west) on Venice and cross La Cienega and Cattaraugus to Helms Bl. at the 2nd light. Turn left (south) on Helms, to 3233 Helms on the right side (west). There is parking on the street, and in a lot behind the business complex across the street (entrance to the left before you reach the venue). From the 10 Freeway east, exit on Robertson and continue straight to the light at Venice Bl. Turn soft-left (east) onto Venice and cross National to Helms Bl. at the 2nd light. Turn right (south) and go to 3233 Helms on the right side (west).
